Review for A Brush With Death by FairyTale Amber

Ok!  I got this ready to go early, and I am doing a bunch of newer stories for a little bit.  Then I will go back to some older stories.  I am trying to get you guys to where you visit some old favorites, and some new ones.

For some of you guys, the older stories are new to you, since most of these stories were pulled from FanFiction, then moved to WordPress.  There is a Directory now, Fangbangers Anonymous. Click on the name to be taken there if you are not already a member!  I am a member of this site, and love how they try to help us all out.

Also, as soon as it comes out, there will be a Rec site for ALL fanfiction.  We are starting out with my favorites, since the ladies who are working with me have filled the database behind it to over 1300 stories!!!

Review: 

So this story won the May 2015 Kittyinaz Writing Challenge.  The prompt was the forest scene, and what it inspired her to write, was amazing.   The scene was outstanding, and the idea as well as the story that she is taking it to is remarkable.

It starts out in the back parking lot of Merlotte’s…

This is after the Fairy War, and Sookie is wondering about Eric and their relationship.

She admits she is in love with Eric, madly in fact… but she hasn’t seen him.  She hasn’t admitted to him their week and gives some thoughts as to why.

Sam comes out to speak with her, and the unexpected happens.

Except from Chapter 1:

“I’m sorry Sam.” Sookie continued to speak her piece. “We’ve known each other for a lotta years now and you never once made a move on me. Not once, I would have remembered. Then Bill Compton walked into the bar and sat in my section.”

Sookie breathed in deep, pushing aside the many mistakes she had made with trusting Bill. She should have known better. Hell, had Bill been anything but a vampire it would have been easy to remember not to trust only his words. The Southern Civil War solider was still painful reminder that your trust can be misplaced. Especially when it came to something has breakable as your own heart. Downright irritating that his betrayal with his Maker made Sookie second guess her own judgment.

Sookie sighed, scrubbing her nose and forehead with the back of her hand. “You only wanted me when other Supes started to sniff around. That ain’t love, Sam. That makes you a game player.”

“Oh, and Eric doesn’t play games. Where is he tonight?” Sam deflected his lack of action.

They continue to argue, until the argument is over in a defined moment.  That moment is what changes everything and even eliminates Sam as a Suitor.

I love this story so much, and was thrilled when she immediately started posting more chapters on it.  When I tried to pick one of her stories to start posting on, I had a hard time deciding between this and My Heartbeat Song.
